In a country with a population of 174 million people, how does Bangladesh feed its people? This is the story of food from the micro to the macro – the village to the city. The smells, sounds and tastes of food in Bangladesh vary as much as the landscapes that surround it and the people within those landscapes. People are connected through the relationships that form in exchange of food between families, vendors and markets and is an essential currency in every setting. From the farm to the factory, to the plate, food is a vital part of culture and life in Bangladesh. Food is for Life was photographed and filmed in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh and Dhal Char, Bangladesh while studying with Pathshala South Asian Media Academy.
