Food is for Life
In a country of over 170 million people, how does Bangladesh feed itself? This is the story of food from the village to the city, the micro and the macro of how a nation eats.
The smells, sounds, and tastes of food in Bangladesh vary as much as the landscapes that surround it and the people within those landscapes. Food is currency here, in every sense that matters: it moves through the relationships between families, vendors, and markets, and it's through that exchange that people stay connected to one another. From the farm, to the market, to the plate, food isn't just sustenance in Bangladesh — it's the thread that runs through culture and daily life.
